Obesity treatment in Wrocław
Diagnosis and treatment of overweight and obesity in children aged 12 and over and in adults. Consultations are provided by Wojciech Kalemba, MD — a doctor in specialty training in family medicine who holds a certificate from the Polish Association for the Study of Obesity (PTLO).
Who the consultations are for
Overweight and obesity therapy is provided for children aged 12 and over and for adults — including those with coexisting conditions related to excess body weight.
The treatment plan is set individually and includes lifestyle modification, dietary support and — where indicated — pharmacotherapy, based on current guidelines. Laboratory tests can be done on site, at the Sonar Clinic sample collection point.
Obesity in children and adolescents is also treated by Monika Seifert, MD, PhD, a specialist in paediatric endocrinology and diabetology who also holds a PTLO certificate (see paediatric endocrinology and diabetology).
Treatment of obesity
Wojciech Kalemba, MD, completed training by the Polish Association for the Study of Obesity (PTLO) in the comprehensive treatment of obesity and received a personal PTLO certificate on 31 May 2026.
The PTLO certificate is issued to the doctor personally. Wojciech Kalemba, MD, is listed on the PTLO map of specialists.
Tests before the first visit
Before the first visit, please have the following laboratory tests done:
- fasting glucose
- glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c)
- lipid panel
- uric acid
- TSH
- ALT, AST
- creatinine
- complete blood count
- general urine test
Tests can be performed at the Sonar Clinic sample collection point by prior appointment.
